Narrative Version
The Pentagon Releases List of Military Bases Most at Risk to Climate Change from five climate related hazards: recurrent flooding, wildfire, drought, desertification, and permafrost thaw. What is missing at this point to prioritize what to fix is the risk – the probability and damage to national security – before these occur.
Fortunately the recent flooding did not include OCONUS bases where the possibility of water borne diseases are higher.
With the repeated blackout in Venezuela, there is likely to be more conspiracy theories of US cyberattacks that will exacerbate health issues.
Meanwhile the DR Congo Ebola disbelief is widespread. Obviously denial of the existence of a problem interferes with solving it, especially if there is a proclivity to shoot at those how are trying to solve the problem.
Both DRC and Venezuela are infected with electronically transmitted Bioweapons, like those that have caused the Measles surge in Europe.
