PDN Introduction.
CV03. Information: Antivaxxers Amy Becker and Mark Blaxill Deceptively Use Covid-19 Death Statistics to Claim That Vaccines Cause SIDS. Using COVID-19 death statistics CV15 to claim that declines in vaccination due to lockdowns in response to the pandemic caused a decline in the number of children dying every week, thus wildly speculating that vaccines cause SIDS.
-A. This is a communication CV20 and learning CV27 problem. Antivax is misinformation but the problem that the misinformation causes are linked to nearly every category used for PDN: Political and economic exploitation, philosophy, manipulation of both numerical and lexical languages, uncertainty about death, history, et cetera. For communication the problem is that those who believe antivax misinformation as being true are hermetically sealed in echo chambers, making it nearly impossible to communicate ideas that may lead to questioning those beliefs. In regard to learning very few people have the experience, much less skills or identifying and examining assumptions (bias), critical thinking, testing paradigms, considering opposing data, and when there is logical inconsistency between accepted concepts. This is exacerbated with the current a priori antivax for CV. The CV antivax may be proven due to the risk that a vaccine developed at ADDED warp speed (not tested fully) without international cooperation of information sharing, may be: unsafe, fade quickly, not apply to a new strains*, expensive, hoarded for elites (which include the financial backers of antivax misinformation), not shared globally. That makes the problem of communicating informed information to decision makers a wicked one.
-*B. If I recall correctly there have been 5 identified strains of CV (i.e. were lethal and therefore noticed) starting with SARS, 3 of there are zoonotic. That many new strains in such a short time indicate a high probability that CV will be both globally endemic and seasonal, like the Rhino and Influenza.

CV04. Politics: Global Governance for COVID-19 Vaccines. The COVID-19 pandemic has uncovered serious gaps in the health care systems of many nations. In particular, it exposes a fragmented global governance system that does not have the structures to coordinate the pooling and sharing of resources needed to combat pandemics. Since the early days of the pandemic, medical protectionism =2= =3= =4= has emerged as nations scrambled for their own stocks of personal protective equipment and ventilators. COVID-19 vaccines could be the next example. Already there is a danger of a vaccine bidding war =2= =3= =4= CV05, with governments competing for a limited number of doses CV28, well before a vaccine even reaches the market. Want to Invest in a Covid-19 Vaccine. You Should Avoid it like the Plague.
CV05. Economics: New Study Looks at How Prepared Businesses Were for a Pandemic and the Strategies Being Used for Continuity. 1) Businesses are recalibrating their digital transformation strategy. 2) Many pre pandemic business continuity plans were not fit for purpose, Many Traditional Business Continuity Strategies Don’t Work in Pandemic Times Says Crises Control. 4) Organizations are reviewing their approach to customer engagement. 5) Networks will play a more important role in connecting remote and mobile workers. Covid-19: Survey Looks at Current Business Continuity Measures and Future Outlook.
-A. The Business Continuity source of this information tends to focus on cyber, which tends to skew what information in collects and sources of information, such as having a too narrow focus on businesses the use computers, but missing the non cyber aspects. A restaurant may have computers for financial transactions (to include utilities) and inventory for analysis, but would miss the social interactions of staff, staff and customers, customers and community.
CV06. Linguistics: We're going to have to retire the expression "avoid it like the plague" because it turns out humans do not do that =2=. [Meme] 200618-CV04.

CV16. Consequences, Social Change: 100 Days into the Pandemic, We’ve Moved from Anxiety to Complacency, Without Much Reason to Do So. In three months that rocked the world, we’ve learned a lot – medically, politically, socially – and changed even more.

-B. One hundred days ago, the world had recorded only 125,000 cases of coronavirus infection, and 5,000 deaths. Today: 181,232 new cases, 8,385,440 confirmed cases, 450,686 deaths. From the tsunami of COVID-19 data, a humbling message emerges. To paraphrase Albert Einstein: The more we learn, the more we realize how much we don’t know.
-C. MORE: May 2022: Coronaphobia: How Covid-19 Minimizers Shame the Responsible. Dr. Lucy McBride, a concierge medicine doctor who has become famous as a pandemic minimizer and one of the drivers of Urgency of Normal =2=, Tweeted an article that she had written over a year ago about “coronaphobia”. Whether she understands it or not, this is a very old antivax trope: To pathologize fear of infectious disease as mental illness, or dismissing as alarmists. With a million deaths in the US and there has not been enough time to bury the memory (holocaust denial =2=), Covid denial is not tenable at this time – such as some who now claim that believe in climate change but not global warming =2=, which I think means that the Earth has been warming for thousands of years (true) but dismisses human accelerated climate change. The denials remains the same whether it be Covid, vaccines, Othering: Science, Economic, Humanitarian, Political (ideological) and Crisis.
-D. MORE: Dec 2022 There is a correlation between the various denials of global health and environmental issues =2= =3= =4= =5=. Is there a relation with these denials and shame and guilt. Shame or Hope, How Should We Feel about Climate Change. Is it OK to enjoy warmer summers, given they are caused by climate change. Should we feel shame when we fly. In a new article helps us sort out our climate emotions. | Unknown if the Swedish language/ culture differentiate guilt and shame CV06 in the same way as framed in Parademic, and why “shame” was used in this article about The Psychology Behind Climate Change Denial.
CV18. Narrative, Social Reality: Trump Says Covid-19 is Dying Out. Experts Fear his Dismissiveness Could Prolong the Crisis. The White House is taking a new position on the coronavirus pandemic: a daily count of 750 deaths is a testament to the federal government’s successful pandemic response. But a range of public health experts say that this messaging not only diverts attention from a pandemic that has already caused 120,000 U.S. deaths CV15, but has more practical implications: It could make it difficult for local governments to enlist the public in the mitigation measures necessary to reduce the continued spread of the virus. Experts Abroad Watch US COVID-19 Case Numbers with Alarm.
CV18.1. Comparing the Coronavirus to Car Accidents Is a Misguided Idea, the analogy between car crashes and the coronavirus as a false equivalency. Here’s Why Trump Is Wrong to Compare the Coronavirus to the Flu and Auto Accidents, and why did he not make the comparison with Ebola. Car Crash v Coronavirus: Doctor Puts Pandemic in Perspective.
