-1. I’ve directly observed bunker mentality before with organizations, groups and individuals, feeling of persecution from without, a hunkering down to avoid contamination and threat.
-A. CV has been an opportunity to directly observe bunker mentality for a whole nation, one that remains relatively open to media reports on its foibles, and as a whole is not practiced at being secretive and fearful. This is different than the bunker mentality of countries that have long traditions of totalitarian regimes such as Russia, China, North Korea, Iran. Bunker mentality is exacerbated by CV.
-B. Bunker mentality, us against everyone else, can be from an ideological purity spiral. In the US the self isolation is largely from the needs to social distance and imposition of lockdown, a current proclivity toward protectionism of an imaginary ideal, and some sectors of society are self isolating cults and organization that existed before CV, not to mention political polarization. In the US the current bunker mentality is largely not due to CV, but xenophobia, an extreme form of isolation to make America purely American, and paranoia about opposition. The increasing growth curve of CV exacerbates these trends, while concurrently thinning the ranks of ideological isolationists.
-C. Cabin fever is a milder form of bunker mentality, being stuck in one place with a very small group who are getting on one’s nerves*. The extreme form of bunkerism is Siege Mentality. This is especially self destructive when there is separation within a social group, hoarding, mistrust, othering, suppression of information, intolerance for other views, in faction fighting, presenting fictions as fact (or possibly two nearly opposites of interpretation of events, different social realities), ejecting foreigners, violence, breakdown of norms of social intercourse. -2. Court Rules That Dakota Access Pipeline must Be Emptied for Now. A federal judge has ordered the Army Corps of Engineers to produce a full environmental review. Until then, oil must stop flowing through the controversial pipeline. More than Three Years after the Standing Rock Protests, a Judge Ordered the Dakota Access Pipeline to Shut Down. It was the 2016 Dakota Access Pipeline Clashes Turn Violent, that contributed to the possibility of a violent confrontation at Mount Rushmore. 200703-CV01. Court Rulings Deal Setbacks to Pipelines. Judge Declines to Reverse Dakota Access Pipeline Shutdown. Supreme Court Reinstates Fast-track Pipeline Permitting Except for Keystone XL. House Rejects Trump Cuts, Proposes Boost for Environmental Agencies. Energy Companies Cancel Atlantic Coast Pipeline.
-3. Article by Michael Shellenberger Mixes Accurate and Inaccurate Claims in Support of a Misleading and Overly Simplistic Argumentation about Climate Change. Analysis of "On Behalf of Environmentalists, I Apologize for the Climate Scare". The reviewers who analyzed this article rated its overall credibility to be low. The comments evaluate many of these claims and describe how they are inaccurate or mislead readers by contradicting available evidence or using scientific data out of context.
-4. The People Who Imagine Disasters. Entire teams of people spend their days imagining what might happen in a crisis to ensure we can be better prepared for when the worst really does happen. Largely about mundane actions that can cause disaster, which cascade into another unrelated area causing as disaster, creating a totally different disaster someplace else, possibly much later.

He28 Outbreak
Memo: Camp 12, SES Staffs ONLY.
Like all of you I am disturbed and disappointed by the actions of the Cita Administrator during this most recent outbreak at the Cita.
However, I must ask that all of you keep your opinions private. At this time the Administrator could do serious damage to our Community here at the Burn serious damage, and it would not be questioned.
Fortunately, we have the resources to supply the additional 50 or so people whom were brought here under the guise of removing vulnerable individuals from the Cita for the duration of the outbreak.
Like you all I expected elderly, very young, those with chronic conditions, and immune suppressed refugees.
It was a shock to see that it was not the bus that arrived, but the armored vans with the Administrators family, close staff and a security detail.
Fortuitously we had already finished preparations of block two for occupancy which will be more than adequate to house the additional people, and has independent food and services from the rest of Camp 12.
We now know why they insisted on a barrier fence being placed around the whole of block two, with a single entrance. That fence will be to our advantage as that will decrease the chance of unfortunate interactions between us and the Administrator’s entourage. It is also fortuitous that our visitors security staff cut all the monitors in Block 2, as that means they are unable to monitor us.
Communication with Cita medical indicate the outbreak, though rapidly lethal has been fully contained and should be controlled within the next two weeks.
Given that our Community offers none of the luxuries that our guests are used to having on demand, it is unlikely that they will stay long after eradication is confirmed.
In the meantime, despite our own disagreements, remember that we are fortunate to have a united Community that has free debate and discussion, along with lively games of Where’s He. There is no reason for us to confront the administration of the Cita.
Rest assured that it has been communicated to higher authority about what happened.
