-B. ADDED Meadows Doubles down on White House Pandemic Response: We're Not Going to Control It, "We're going to defeat the virus; we're not going to control it", not sure how to defeat (annihilate) something without controlling it, this may have been the intended message from the start but indicate that WH is not communicating CV20 with itself (possible artefact of chaos within the WH as per the president’s style), and its language is drifting further from US English. CV18. Narrative, Social Reality: Why Trump's Latest Conspiracy Theory Can't Stick, he claimed the media would no longer report on the pandemic after Election Day. He implied that news organizations are trying to drum up fear about the pandemic to get former Vice President Joe Biden elected. Several assailants attacked Germany’s Robert Koch Institute for infectious diseases with incendiary devices overnight, causing mild damage to the building. What is of more interest is that most of the articles that had this headline in search engines went to very different stories. -A. Germany: Thousands Protest Against Covid-19 Rules in Berlin, which has one of the nation's highest infection rates, has seen repeated anti coronavirus protests. The rally was timed to coincide with the opening of a major health conference. 201010-CV32 -A. Germany: Coronavirus Protests Increasing Anti Semitism. -A. Changes to and cancellation of Thanksgiving and Christmas events have also been noted in open sources. Will do a stub closer to those dates with collected items not yet put in PDN or noting the stubs that do mention those holidays.
CV27. Learning: Are the Risks of Reopening Schools Exaggerated. Same issue as 201023-CV25. A crash/ outbreak is unlikely, but when it does happen will be a large event, one that attracts media attention. Unlike plane crashes that are sudden and spectacular and school outbreak is slow and can last for weeks as it expands. Same applies to in person religious gatherings, weddings, Trump rallies ADDED=2=. Everything is fine until it isn’t. In addition, switching between remote learning and in person learning is disruptive to education, even it an outbreak does not occur. Not ideal but best solution is when there are means to protect and provide immunity is probably the time to switch back to class rooms, though eventually that will die out for the same reasons that the advantages of remote work are proving to outweigh in office.
