PDN Introduction.
CV05. Economics: Does Meme Accurately Compare US Covid Relief Funds to Other Countries. Comparing apples to oranges is ironically a fruitless method of argument.
CV06. Linguistics: The Words That Shaped Covid-19. As someone who has been immersed in the Covid-19 pandemic since January of 2020, looking back on all that has happened since the emergence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 is an extreme challenge. Trying to keep the full context of all the events, the new discoveries, the policies, and the rhetoric is almost a specialty in its own right 200419-1. That's why a #book like Unprepared: America in the Time of Coronavirus Preview has such value. There will be many books written on this pandemic, but I suspect none that provide such a unique service as Unprepared does. This book is not a traditional narrative but more akin to a pandemic scrapbook. Unprepared is entirely comprised of COVID-related quotations from public figures, news outlets, and organisations. These are chronologically ordered beginning with the ominous news of Dec 31, 2019, which heralded what was to come, extending through June 5, 2020. The book is divided into five sections each aptly titled (e.g., The Arrival, The Emergency, The Lockdown, The Opening, The Reckoning). ADDED Wake Us up When 2020 Ends. 50 Quotes That Sum up How Everyone Feels about the past Year CV02.

CV15. Death: Did a Photo Show iPads Used for Virtual End of Life Visits Due to Covid-19. A viral picture of a roomful of tablets alluded to the widespread emotional devastation caused by Covid-19.
CV22. Longue Duree: America's Covid Politics, Historical Revisionism and Why Cold War Conformity Isn't the Answer. It is a self congratulatory fiction to attribute the public health compliance of earlier generations to a now lost commitment to fairness and solidarity.
CV22.1. Were Old Apartment Radiators Designed to Prevent Spread of the 1918 Pandemic, surprising vestiges of the 1918 pandemic are suddenly relevant again.
CV22.2. Use of Masks to Control the Spread of Infection: More than a Century of Confusion.
CV27. Learning: There Was No National Database Tracking Covid-19 Cases in Schools, So Emily Oster Made One. 200910-CV27, 200821-CV03, 200820-CV27. I was only looking for links about previous stubs about tracking and schools. Found that “tracking” has far more aspects, many related to conspiracy theory. In any case the lack of CV data about school allowed decisions about opening schools to be purely wishful thinking and opinion, not based on any data. CV30↓.
CV30. Methodology: The Covid Tracking Project – Get the Stats Here. Hospitalizations for Covid has been a missing statistic. While things are going from bad to worse, there is still room on the "worser scale" to go even higher. I predict January will be even more catastrophic than December because of the Christmas holiday and the overwhelming desire of people to gather with family and friends. Prove me wrong – please. CV27↑. Oregon’s Image Problem: Covid-19 Testing Numbers Looked Terrible, So Officials Changed the Stats They Reported.
