-1. Ignoring Cognative Dissonance, Addiction, 2. Emergent Strategy
-1. One of the head scratchers of parademics is when what needs to be done is absolutely clear, but so many people choose to do the opposite. Of course those who take the antipode approach are as likely to believe the others are irrational. This is the crux of parademic that ends of exacerbating the biocalamity. When people agree and work together toward a common goal is also parademic, but then there would not be as much of accelerating biocalamity, or would result in a more immediate mass extinction. Americans Are Choosing Death over Deprivation.
-A. One aspect of being able to avoid the stress of cognitive dissonance of holding logically opposing beliefs is the apparent ability to forget, use logical fallacies, be self delusion, use of circular logic, and reasoning that is internally inconsistent as the conclusion has no to little relation with the context and logic chain (logical fallacies). These do seem to be costly, and the longer there coping strategies are held, and the more invested one becomes invested, the greater the damage and inability to adapt. Your Brain’s Built In Biases Insulate Your Beliefs from Contradictory Facts.
-B. One of the major reasons that illusions continue to persist without cognitive dissonance is the same issues as alcoholism. Enablers, codependents, psychophants others who suffer the same addictions, refusal by those who see the problem to take action to help, and those who don’t see alcoholism as a problem. In parademic these are called clusters, whether a hotspot and/or ideological, that tends to increase the possibility of ill health among that group and its contacts. Oregon Doctor and Staff Refuse to Wear Masks During Pandemic, Calling Covid Common Cold. Like alcoholism or being in a cult recovery is very difficult and is more about continual recovering on a daily basis rather than complete repression of these impulses. -C. There are no ways to externally break such vicious circles of avoiding cognitive dissonance, one needs to find internal ways to evoke cognitive dissonance. To question assumptions, to examine the difference between faith and belief, to stop dismissing reality, and what to trust. I have no idea how to accomplish this, though like addictions hitting rock bottom in some cases seems to help, while others will persist until underground. The effort to change takes major effort, and requires motivation that requires loss that may not seem worth the cost.
-2. How to Approach Strategy in Turbulent Times. Traditional approaches to strategy development can be slow and cumbersome. This article explains what ‘emergent strategy’ is and how it can help with an agile response when survival threatening situations develop. Since we appear to be headed toward turbulent and existential times, exacerbated by a period that fostered creating harm, disruption, uncertainty and misinformation, this may be informative.
